History is long... we can see this sakuramochi, in ukiyoe during edo period.
one is kanto style , outside is like crape,
one is kyoto style, outside is domyoji ko.
and inside of that is anko,. and outside is covered by salted cherry blossom leaf.
and leaves are edible. we eat together.
I like domyoji type. I don't prefer chomeiji type.

but, I think ' eat sakuramochi at girl's day ' is not correct.
it depends family. and may be place.
