Cheap matcha is bitter

try cheaper matcha like cocoa

koicha  at GINZA ,
More expensive matcha, it is sweet.
Go to  a tea shop and ask the price.
You will surprised at the price.

I haven't bought matcha cheaper than 1000yen per 30g.
1500yen per 20g, it is good, but  there are more expensive one.

For koicha, (matcha paste), People use  better one.

I know only two cafe you can try 'koicha' , in tokyo.

Ginza, next to Almani shop, you can try . 'cha ginza cafe'
For one person 500 yen,  koicha and usucha and sweets) , it is special service for guest. (sometimes 700yen, but at that time, they use their best tea)
(As this cafe is run by tea shop, people usually want  to buy good  tea when they come back.).

You can try koicha at 'ippodo' at marunouchi as well,  in front of tokyo station, (there are in kyoto as well) it cost more thsn 1500yen for one drink.

Last week, I bought a cheap can of matcha. 50g 950yen , fuji no haru.
This is my first time to try .

It was bitter. This  can is sold at Paris.
Now I understand, they use matcha like cocoa, with suger.
It is easy to make.

For matcha cake, for matcha icecream, we can buy cheaper one at grocery shop.

wafu paffe ....Japanease style parfait

Sometimes you can find  'wafu parfait'  (Japanese style parfait)  at  cafe.

I cannot say where you can find these parfait, but there exists.

Japanese style sweet cafe , we  call 'kanmidokoro ', but I don't know they have this menu. As parfait is a little western style sweets. So it may easy to find this at western style restaurant.

I don't know there are this kind of parfait in foreign country,. Japanese think this  one of the dessert menu of foreign country, so  Japanese style parfait is special  menu.

Shiratama ko and anko and ice cream and warabi mochi  and black sweet sylop are in it.

warabimochi flour 50g
water 200g
suger 50g

mix them  and put it in micro wave oven and heat and mix little by little until this become clear

put them on the  KINAKO (soy bean flour) and  divide and cool .

This is the easiest way to cook  warabimochi.

Warabi s the shoot of spring, this flour made from root of warabi.

But real warabi starch  is very expensive, so I chose a little cheaper one. (warabiko is 10% or 20%  I don't know... mixed one.)

This taste like jelly.
